1. I have been married almost 36 years. We have one child, a son.
2. My son has a wife and two children, a boy and a girl.
3. I was born in September, the youngest of two. My brother is four years older than me
4. When I was 9 the neighbor boy punched me in the stomach and it was my first experience of having my breath taken away.
5. When I was younger I would pick strawberries and green beans in the summer to earn money.
6. I am the adult child of alcoholics.
7. I have ridden in an Army tank, been on the battleship Missouri, toured the Trident sub Pennsylvania, and been on the carrier Enterprise.
8. I have worked in a deli making sandwiches and donuts.
9. There is no memory I have where there was no pain from fibromyalgia.
10. I have a scar on my right wrist after throwing a piece of metal that was scrap when they were building Tumwater High School in Washington state.
11. I was 10 when I realized I was going to die someday. This realization came to me as I was crossing old highway 99 in Tumwater, on my way to grade school.
12. In the 1950's I was hit in the head with a mirror from a logging truck. I don't remember my dad comforting me. All I remember is going to the police station and my dad trying to press charges against the driver.
13. My senior year of high school I skipped 40 days. Yup, I still graduated. J
14. I had the same teacher for 4<sup>th</sup> and 5<sup>th</sup> grades. Mr. Fisher. I detested him.
15. I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution through my ancestor Capt. Thomas Poindexter.
16. I am also related to Robert the Bruce and other royal persons.
17. My elbows are double jointed.
18. I am a certified handwriting analyst. When we lived in Florida, I volunteered at the local police station. They had me analyze the exemplar of one of their inmates. I had never seen the inmate, nor did I know what he was incarcerated for at the time. The detective was astonished that I could tell him so much about the man.
19. I am not currently employed using my Graphoanalyst skills.
20. The first 20 years of my life were spent in Washington state.
21. From age 20 to age 21 I lived in Otterberg and Alsenborn, Germany.
22. We lived in Clinton, Iowa from 1972 to 1980. It was the longest decade of my life.
23. The Midwest is not my favorite place to live. Too many tornadoes, snow storms and bugs.
24. I love to eat deep fried catfish; and I like to fish and can even bait my own hook.
25. I have experienced two major earthquakes: one in 1965 (6.5) and one in 2001 (6.8).
26. I have been on the phone with my brother when a quake began near where I live and by the time I said, "Dave, quake", he was feeling it 70 miles away at his house.
27. I believe there are aliens under the oceans.
28. I do not believe our earth is warming because of greenhouse gasses. I believe it is a normal cycle of the sun.
29. My reply to everyone who comments that it rains all the time in Washington is that it is true, just so they won't move here!
30. I have been owned by the bank and eight cats.
31. I like dogs, but I don't want to feed them, be licked by them, snuzzled by them, or pick up their excrement.
32. Two weeks after 9/11 my husband and I flew to CA. I was scared, but I wanted to see our newest grandchild, a girl. It was worth it!
33. I am still so furious about 9/11 that if a terrorist was on my plane I would give my life to take his/hers.
34. My brother tried to convince me to "fly" off the garage roof on a windy day. I refused.
35. One of the funniest things I have ever seen was when my brother peeled a concord grape and stuck it in his nose and proceeded to blow it out in front of our mother who was completely grossed out.
36. I love my brother. He has (almost) always been my friend. (see # 34)
37. Liver is so disgusting, I have to be starving to eat it. I am never that hungry.
38. I believe Paris Hilton is one of the scourges of our planet.
39. One of the most exciting sounds is that of the crack of a bat as it hits a home run.
40. I have been so happy I thought I would burst.
41. I have been hurt so badly that I thought I would die.
42. I have not looked at birds the same way again since I saw Jurassic Park.
43. It infuriates me that someone else can tell me what I can or can't do with my body.
44. My favorite fragrance is the smell of roses; followed by lilac, pinks, and fresh from the oven banana bread.
45. My banana bread recipe was given to me by my mother when I was in Germany. She sent us some, and it was like a brick when it got to us.
46. I like walnuts in my banana bread.
47. One of my other favorite breads is pumpkin.
48. Someday, I want to have high tea at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC.
49. I love my grandchildren more than they know.
50. Most of the people in my email address book are cousins. There are 342 people in my address book. Whew!
51. I flunked typing in high school. I can type better now than I did then, sometimes without looking at the keys.
52. My favorite class in high school was history.
53. I don't "get" algebra.
54. When I draw, I can 'see' the picture on the paper.
55. When I was born, the nurses called me 'rosebud'.
56. My brother and I can communicate with a one word "code".
57. When I was little, I was afraid of bears.
58. I am so glad I don't drink anymore. Hangovers are for the young.
59. I used to like to iron. I love the smell of freshly ironed tablecloths.
60. When I was first married I used to iron my husband's handkerchiefs. Now I just fold 'em and stick them in his dresser. I have come to believe that they are disgusting and a biohazard.
61. In 1968 I went to California with my two friends. They hitchhiked home, and I called my dad for bus fare. He hung up on me the first time.
62. I wish that I had known the questions to ask of my grandfather and other older relatives.
63. I wish I had been able to ask Grandpa who the people are in the tintypes.
64. I wish I had asked Grandpa what it was like to meet his grandfather in Tennessee, and how he and his father had traveled there.
65. My genealogical dead end is Miles Yates, my 4<sup>th</sup> G-Grandfather.
66. I used to like Tom Selleck until he kissed another man.
67. When I was a teenager, the smell of Hai Karate was intoxicating to me.
68. Rap music will never rival good old rock and roll, in my opinion.
69. Agatha Christie will always be my favorite author.
70. I do not drive: cars or cattle.
71. I am grateful to my mother who taught me correct English, how to behave in public (most of the time), and how to appreciate the little things in life.
72. I admire my husband who instinctively knows how to work "smart".
73. I love my daughter-in-law as much as I do my son and their kids.
74. It irritates me that people think because you don't drive a car that you must be an idiot.
75. I would like to visit Scotland and go to Sterling Castle; I would also like to go back to Germany with our son and his family and show them where we lived when he was conceived and when he was born.
76. My great grandfather and my dad died at age 76.
77. Both my maternal and paternal grandmothers died before I was born. One was hit by a hit and run driver in Seattle in 1929 when my mom was 5. My paternal grandmother died in 1932 of botulism poisoning when my dad was 12. I have always felt sort of cheated that I didn't have grandmas (I had a great "step" grandma though) to spoil me.
78. I saw Sputnik in 1957.
79. Hearing someone play the bagpipes makes me cry.
80. I love a parade.
81. I always try to listen to my elders. They have much to share if you listen.
82. So far, I have made at least 20 afghans.
83. My favorite places are genealogical libraries, warm swimming pools, and national parks.
84. I love to dance. When I was younger I wanted to take ballet. I can "let my backbone slip".
85. I have fond memories of going to the afternoon movies in Olympia, WA and feeling my senses assailed by the smells of popcorn and candy, the quiet and pushiness of the thick carpeting in the foyer and waiting area, and the excitement of knowing I was going to see two movies and some cartoons.
86. I remember the morning we heard about the quake in Anchorage in 1964. Less than 1 year later we had one in western Washington too.
87. I am a cousin of the first sheriff of Clackamas County, Oregon Territory, William Livingston Holmes.
88. My best friend is Cherokee by blood.
89. I have worn a mini skirt so short it should have been illegal. I used to have nice legs.
90. My childhood home was later the scene of a domestic violence murder.
91. I had a lucid dream that I was laying on my bed upstairs and there was smoke coming up the stairwell with someone coming up to where I was.
92. The wife of the couple who bought the house where I had that dream died upstairs in that room when she set fires downstairs and came upstairs and shot herself. Later, her husband married her sister. I have always wondered about that.
93. I think I would know what to do if I should suddenly become rich. I am still waiting for that opportunity.
94. I love beautiful china, silver and glassware.
95. I will never understand what John Lennon saw in Yoko Ono.
96. I feel very lucky to have the love of a good man, a son who also loves me for who I am, and many, many good long-time friends.
97. I sold my husband's '57 Chevy for $350 in 1970. I didn't know how much it was worth. My husband didn't murder me, but I bet he would have liked to!
98. I truly believe that this planet would be much better off without humans on it.
99. To my chagrin, it doesn't look like we will be living the space age life of the Jetsons.
100. I wish I would take more time to read.
101. I wish they would find a cure for fibromyalgia.
