From life, health, disability, renters, homeowners, personal liability, worker's compensation and automobile policies - the discussions are endless.
As consumers we want to know which company is rated best, which one pays claims and has good customer service, is it better to get whole life or term insurance, do you prefer an HMO or PPO, how does your employer measure up in the benefits department?
Come to the Insurance group and explore the options, compare what is available to you through your employer and as an individual or family.
I would rather not have agents post here to drum up business. This is a group for consumers, everyday people to commiserate over the dilemma of obtaining insurance, making the payments, filing claims and the actual benefits of coverage.
I write on the topic of insurance at http://insurance.bellaonline.com if you want to check out the articles there and start discussions here.
Group home page is http://insuranceissues.gather.com
Currently I have auto, renter's, life and earthquake through an Allstate Agent. I also have with Allstate at Work through my Union (home health care workers) AD&D and Cancer coverage.
I worked at A.M. Best Company as a proof reader in New Jersey, then was a policy typist at Chubb & Son headquarters in New Jersey for the financial institutions department. I transferred to Chubb Custom Market in Los Angeles in 1985, worked there for a few years before moving on to Capital Records. Then I worked at a Banking Investment Company in downtown Los Angeles before going to a Third Party Administrator Company, then it was an Insurance Agency and next was Property Management Company. I went back to New Jersey for a few years and did temporary work at Foster Wheeler Corporation and the headquarters of Merck.
I have been a home health care worker through the State of California for my severely disabled autistic son for a few years now.
Please post an introductory on your background and what types of insurance you have and what type of coverages on other insurances you might be interested in.
Welcome to the group - http://insuranceissues.gather.com

Just wanted to say that I hope the group gets off of the ground. This should help some people.
