It does seem that our society is becoming less tolerant to me. I suspect it is related to the rise of the religious right who seem to promote a number of idea where dissagreement is tantamount to villany (abortion, non believers in Christ, etc.)

Mary, it can be hard to do, and yet it is the way to live with respect and is the way to peace, I believe.
Although I do not believe loving god as a separate but as a one. Part of the one and all of the one. We are ALL connected, there is no way around that. Physics now proves what philosophers and diests have told us for centuries. We are all really one.
