Poem : One and One

In this galaxy

There's one fallacy

I tell you life's replete with wondrous oo la la

That sometimes defeat the laws of algebra

One and one is two.

Well that's what they tell you.

One less one is nought.

That too's what you're taught.

Well one plus one's not just two for me,

Not when it's me and you and all that gladness

And one less one's not nought you see,

Not if you're not there and all is sadness

It's not always what the professors say.

It's about you and me every day.

Everything's not black and white or 1+1, not when you add people and emotions into the mix. Math is an exact science. People are not.
