I have not watched the popular reality shows on network tv, but have seen quite a few on cable channels. This happens while flipping around the channels and then I spot a show and get hooked.
For example I cannot tolerate Fear Factor, not that I have watched it, but the commercials air when viewing other programs and I get grossed out and it is on when kids are in the room and I find it distasteful for a network to hawk this show during daytime hours.
I have never seen an episode of Survivor, just not my type of show to view. One year Animal Planet had a reality show but I am not sure what happened to it and which show is now airing as the end result. The winner was to have their own show.
In no particular order here are the ones I come back to watch each week when they are airing
1. Blow Out - Bravo, was on Tuesday nites at 9 pm I believe with the previous episode airing at 8 pm. This finished the third season with Jonathan being the star of the show. He has two hair salons - one in Beverly Hills and one in West Hollywood. He does the hair to the celebrities and started a line of his hair products on QVC, which viewers got to follow along with the process.
I love the opening of the show, the music and the way Jonathan looks - I especially like him in the white suit and have read the message board at his site, get his newsletters and watch him on QVC and when he did GMA - Good Morning America. He had a baby this past season and went to Hawaii for appearances and traveled to New York and Colorado. I do not get tired of watching the antics of Jonathan and find him to be a sensitive guy - he sees his therapist and has cried on a few episodes. He is sexy and I wouldn't mind getting my hair done at his salon. Maybe when I get my income tax return next year I will do just that.
2.The Apprentice - NBC, the day of this show was changed and I think it was on Monday nights and then changed to Thursday nights. This coming year it will be airing on Sunday nights at 9 pm ET/PT.
They are now filming in Los Angeles for the next round (airing Jan 2007), and I really wanted to run into them around town somewhere, but that has not been the case. I thought for sure the local NBC station would mention on the news when they were filming, but they are not talking about it.
This past season the guy who I liked the best made it to be The Apprentice. I think his name was Sean.I really enjoyed his British accent and the way he maintained his personality through the show. He cared for the other people competing for the job and fell for another gal in the group.
3.Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency - Oxygen, This airs on Tuesday nights at 10 pm with a previous episode preceeding it and following it.You can catch up on past episodes on Sunday afternoons, which is how I initially found the show.
I first watched Janice as a judge during season three of America's Next Top Model with Tyra Banks. Then I witnessed the antics between Janice and Omorossa (Apprentice) and was not really impressed with Janice.
I really like her best on her own show now and not too fond of the guy she took on as a partner. This coming Tuesday is already the season finale. These reality shows on cable don't run for many weeks.
4. The Next Food Network Star - Food Network, aired on Sunday nites. I really liked watching this show as the competitors got to meet the sgtars of the network. I was surprised at how many competitors were from California, since I believe this show tapes in New York. I chose Guy and was happy to see he won with his show Guy Bites airing on Sunday mornings.
I am looking forward to another season, whenever that may be.It is a fun hour show.
5. My Fair BradyWedding- VH1 - The year before the show had another name. I watched a little of the Surreal Life when they met on the show and then caught them by accident on this show and loved when Florence Henderson came over for lunch and met Adrianne. She was the winner of the first America's Next Top Model. I am not sure where she ever modeled as she was a loud person with terrible manners and personal hygiene - always burping.
I did not like either Christopher Knight and could not tell from the seasons I watched of this show what he did for a living. It looked like they lived near the beach. Adrianne wanted to get married and Christophe wanted a vasectomy. She was always wearing thongs getting her butt spanked.
It was surprising to see how hot everyone was at the church the day of the wedding. She was sweating so much and strange that they did not forsee this happening with the weather and the church not being used for other services. It was funny to see some of the old Brady Bunch actors at the wedding and in the series.

I have watched Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency and it tickles me just how unprofessional she can be at times. it makes it fun to watch! Oh, and how about My Super Sweet 16. Those kids are SPOILED! And did I mention their parents are crazy! I guess if you've got it, spend it.
I don't really care for survivor, Big Brother, or Amazing Race. Not my cup of tea.

All those detective and real life shows, like Dr. G, Forensic Files, Cops
