Since 1964, Canada has been home to the world's first UFO landing pad in St. Paul, Alberta. On the site is a 130-ton concrete structure, which was built as the city's Centennial project.
In conjunction with this, Canada has now formed a welcoming committee that is ready to establish diplomatic talks with any "ethical Off-Planet cultures" who may visit us. At a Senate Committee panel hearing in Winnipeg on March 10, 2005, the Canadian Exopolitics Initiative presented a document proposing that the Government of Canada undertake a "Decade of Contact" with extraterrestrials. The document is a "10-year process of formal, funded public education, scientific research, educational curricula development and implementation, strategic planning, community activity and public research concerning our terrestrial society's full culture, political, social, legal and government communication and public interest diplomacy, with advanced, ethical Off-Planet cultures now visiting earth."
That's quite a mouthful, but the gist of it is to prepare everyone for a possible visit by aliens, as well as form a strategy for diplomatic relations with them. The Decade of Contact initiative is supported by former Canadian Minister of Defence Paul Hellyer and others.
The Alberta landing strip is a major point of contact and over the years, has had many visitors. Many famous people have also visited the site, including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and Mother Teresa.

I never heard of that before. Particularly interesting is Mother Theresa wanting to visit, hmmmmm......
Thanks.
Carol: Young people today are much more aware than we think.
John: I wondered about Mother Theresa too. I also wonder what she thought of it.
Hannah: You are so funny!
Jerry: I suspect your government would try to shoot them down, before they had a chance to talk.
