Tho you could hardly talk,
Your eyes spoke volumes
As we smiled and "remembered the time"
It was my privelege to gently
rub your tired flesh with
soft lotion,
I tried to sooth you,
and you let me know
I had a "warm touch"
You were so gracious
in your dying
So loving toward us all
Glad to discuss death
And remember life
That moment you crossed over
First moving through
Your wife's heart
(she felt you)
We praised Spirit
You no longer suffered
We miss you, Jimmy,
Yet you are still here
In our hearts
We still talk to you!
Smile with you
Through tears which
Surprise us when we least expect
Your granddaughter has
Your eyes
As your body withered
Hers grew plump and healthy
Your legacy
She carries your spirit
Along with your name
Your blood courses through
Her little veins
The circle of life continues

The value of the lives around us is greater than all the "stuff" this crazy world places value on put together. Thanks for writng this; it is another vindication for the value of the human spirit.
I am glad you all appreciated this. It seems so strange when Jimmy's face pops up on the photo montage on my computer screen, and yet so comforting.
His grand baby's name is Yeva, which is Russian for Eve.
Little Yeva Shambo has Jimmy's eyes, and her timing into this world couldn't have been better. So much life, and such a comfort to Jimmy's family.
May we all find comfort in one another.
I know you folks here at Gather have been priceless to me.
Thank you.
you are so right, there is beauty in both, and they really are one.
Here are some pictures of Jimmy and Yeva.
After caring for ill parents for several years, I really appreciate your ability to describe in so few words the heartfelt experience and all that it implies.
And so often when a family member passes away, a new one is born as was the case with our Violet!
