Listen to Your Heart

 

 

What does you heart say

about the one

whose table

you share?

 

No

            not your head

                        thinking this and that

                                    with thoughts

            on scales

                        weighing

                                    little this

                        and big that

                                    balancing turmoil

 

What does you heart say

            about fantasies in your head

                        of you two together

                                    on uneasy bed

            with nightmares

                        not dreams

                                    galloping instead

 

What does your heart say

            about the ease you share

                        and the glow

                                    that is there

            as quietly you sit

                        contented and peaceful

                                    in companionship

Wow - this was so good, I needed to pull a quote out of it and comment on it regard to a review on modern love/sex conceptions. The last stanza leaves me so sad - though, but perhaps its the young raging bile of youth and lusty lens through which I read it.

My heart says to call in sick and spend the day in a quiet museum or gallery.

My head says iron the blue striped shirt and the denim skirt with the big pockets.

Magi, great piece. You need to use both head and heart and keep your blinders off. All relationships have their ups and downs, but living in denial only leads to emptiness.

Unlike the comment of the first young man, I like the last stanza but then again, I'm not a young bull!
Bob, I think the last stanza says much about the nature of companionship ... perhaps, like a fine wine, that takes time.
