Friends,
Let the resounding defeat of Senator Joe Lieberman send a cold shiver down the spine of every Democrat who supported the invasion of Iraq and who continues to support, in any way, this senseless, immoral, unwinnable war. Make no mistake about it: We, the majority of Americans, want this war ended -- and we will actively work to defeat each and every one of you who does not support an immediate end to this war.
Nearly every Democrat set to run for president in 2008 is responsible for this war. They voted for it or they supported it. That single, stupid decision has cost us 2,592 American lives and tens of thousands of Iraqi lives. Lieberman and Company made a colossal mistake -- and we are going to make sure they pay for that mistake. Payback time started last night.
I realize that there are those like Kerry and Edwards who have now changed their position and are strongly anti-war. Perhaps that switch will be enough for some to support them. For others, like me -- while I'm glad they've seen the light -- their massive error in judgment is, sadly, proof that they are not fit for the job. They sided with Bush, and for that, they may never enter the promised land.
To Hillary, our first best hope for a woman to become president, I cannot for the life of me figure out why you continue to support Bush and his war. I'm sure someone has advised you that a woman can't be elected unless she proves she can kick ass just as crazy as any man. I'm here to tell you that you will never make it through the Democratic primaries unless you start now by strongly opposing the war. It is your only hope. You and Joe have been Bush's biggest Democratic supporters of the war. Last night's voter revolt took place just a few miles from your home in Chappaqua. Did you hear the noise? Can you read the writing on the wall?
To every Democratic Senator and Congressman who continues to back Bush's War, allow me to inform you that your days in elective office are now numbered. Myself and tens of millions of citizens are going to work hard to actively remove you from any position of power.
If you don't believe us, give Joe a call.
Yours,
Michael Moore

P.S. Republicans -- sorry to leave you out of this letter. It's just that our side has a little housecleaning to do. We'll take care of you this November.

You too Fred
That's a big success!
Thanks,
But Iraq is not just gangs fighting it out. It's the locus for a holy war between Shi'ites and Sunnis, a sad and unsettling situation, one which the US and whatever number of allies it can muster can never win.
My conclusion is that a Muslim holy war in the Middle East is inevitable, that the US should pull out and let them have at it. If the US does not pull out and help to keep the surrounding countries out of the debacle, the entire Middle East may soon turn into a huge war zone with every Muslim country involved.
Bill, I've been hesistant for a complete pull out of our troops but this certainly has given me reason to reconsider.
That's why I found Kerry's position on the war during his campaign totally idiotic. Why didn't he just admit he, along with the rest of the Congress were fed bad data, and that now, with the facts available he was mad as Hell and totally anti-war? It might have won the election for him, instead of the feeble waffling that he did.
I simply can't understand why Hillary didn't do the same. The only prominent Democrat who was honestly and resolutely anti-war was Howard Dean. We've got the right guy heading the party.
Well folks, read my lips: I opposed this war vocally and actively since day one. I didn't waver when people called me names. I DO support our troops. I am very proud of the men and woman who wear American uniforms and abide by values of decency. I support them so much I want them home safe.
I tend to agree with Bert about Mr. Dean.
It is good to see this unnecessary and illegal war becoming a central issue. I'm sure Bushie has some gay-marriage ban or death penalty to flag-burners ammendment up his sleeve, but maybe, just MAYBE, Americans are on to him and his cheating ways.
These guys are spin doctors, and they have unlimited funds and a lot of clever people to try to pull the wool over the eyes of the electorate. They WILL be successful at this. The best we can hope for is to limit that success.
Dear Janet B,
Please stop and think for a moment.
GWB and Rush, your heroes, are destroying your country and your world.
They are not out to help you and your nation.
They are only interested in stealing your money and your power.
Please don't help your enemy, and don't act against your own self interest!
Will someone please alert our dear Janet and write about the GWB's Hidden Agenda to:
Rob here, …rob there, and…rob everywhere, but pretend to be for Democracy and freedom to fool the nation as long as possible!
Janet B, I wish you all the best.
Thank you,
