"I would be happy if they'd just let the polls reflect high approval ratings for him, because he's much less dangerous that way."
This statement, (and my self-surprising near agreement with it) is a great reminder to me how serious the stakes in this game are. Bantering with the knuckle-heads, and reading of polls like this one, sometimes makes me forget how sharp the blade we really dangle over is.
It seems Osama bin Laden and Al Queda have used similar excuse templates.
Iraq was not an imminent threat anymore than Saudi Arabia. Both countries have their share of anti-american folk. However, they hardly speak for their respective governments.
