Hey Folks,
I would love to hear your thoughts on this poem. I wrote it in 2004 when I had been away from New Hampshire for about 6 months... still not there, but here in Texas.
Please send in some of your writing, or rants etc. lets see if we can get this group working in a way for all of us.
Matthew
This is dedicated to My Father Amos R Townsend and NH.
Alone in a field
I sit in the mud as the rain falls
I dry in the eastern wind
I bake in the sun of endless summers
I chip and crack in the grip of winters claw
I was there when she first learned to walk
I held her up when she contemplated life
I was even there when he made her his wife
I look forward to her child's cries
In one place I am more then a space
The lonely boy's sanctuary
A little girl's flower table
The granite bolder
Alone in a field
