What is particularly interesting is how the liberal New Yorker/Atlantic readers have generally higher levels of education than Rush Limbaugh listeners or Weekly Standard/National Review readers, yet score lower on the "High Knowledge" portion of the poll.
The knowledge percentage reflect the number of people in each audience who were able to answer three basic questions about politics. According to the study the questions were...
...which party has a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives (Republicans); the name of the current U.S. Secretary of State (Condoleezza Rice); the name of the current president of Russia (Vladimir Putin).
Frankly, I can't imagine anyone with a college education and an interest in politics getting any of those questions wrong.
Anyway, the next time some liberal hack is waxing poetic about how dumb conservatives are you may want to point them in the direction of this study.

It would be ridiculous to make such a sweeping statement as "All conservatives are dumb." However, there just might be too many variables here for one to credulously make your last statement, too.
Listen to their words and they are filled with hatred, intolerance and bigotry. They embrace dictators and tyrants and are appalled when we confront our enemies. THe left never has a bad thing to say about murderous tyrants like that kook in North Korea or the anti-semetic spouting president of Iran, or anything negative about Mr. Castro, Hezbollah, Hamas....need I say more. THey actually want a dictatorship in our country one where they make all the decisions because apparently none of the freedom loving Americans with a sense of decency and common sense have the ability to do so.

The High Knowledge questions don't necessarily furnish a picture of anyone's intelligence. Limbaugh's nonsense is almost completely devoted to Repugs v. Dems, the wonders of Condi Rice, and how Bush looks into Putin's soul.
Nor is it accurate to claim--as Rob Port maintains---that answering three questions correctly is more an indicator of intelligence than a college education.
What this survey does show is that conservative audiences tend to be less educated.
Fox News couldn't even beat out Larry King who is a moron.
Most of the Liberals I know didn't buy it. Guess what? We were correct. It turns out we were correct about the bogus nature of a lot of the claims made by Bush and his sycophants.
I don't know if that has anything to do with being "high knowledge". by the way, I occasionally listen to Rush just to hear what kind of propaganda he's pitching. So I don't know if I'd be counted in the survey population or not.
Out of curiosity, who did this poll?
By the way, I don't think conservatives are dumb. Some very intelligent, conservative former Bush supporters are now questioning what it means to be "conservative". That might explain the current approval polls.

Joey is a Bush kisser. 'nuf said. He's no democrat anymore, because he's turned his back on the wishes and desires of his constituants, in order to lavish unwavering, loving support for your boyfriend. The democrats of that fine state are reacting in kind. All Joey would've had to do is not turn his back on his constituants, and he'd have breezed right through.
