Here's the latest installment of verse from Lim's Limericks which you may or may not find to be timely and unlimericky:
The lowly penny's under seige
by forces dark and deep
they care not what the people want
our penny we would keep.
They've stolen pensions and our jobs
our IDs and our rights
with ports and cargo up for grabs
they choose the hollow fights.
From flags unburnt to steroid use
when Congress takes the Hill
hold tight your lowly penny or
the copper merchant will.

(Ah-hh...8 stars...from my local copper merchant, perchance? )
They have been trying to get rid of the one dollar "paper" bill for years, by trying to get us to use the metal ones. The public just likes the paper better so it is still made.
Actually I believe all metals are in demand just now--perhaps they'll come up with another use for plastic!
And the way things are going we'll be back using seashells soon!
Mona--You know that Limericks May Be Hazardous to Your Prejudices...har har...
Checking out your profile and articles... everything I see indicates a very interesting person... and, you've been a member since my birthday!
I think you should!!!
Carol--we may soon be doing just that in spite of all manipulations to the contrary. Most of the world's moola seems to be ending up in just a few pockets anyway!!
