During a session with the security cabinet, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said the goals of Israel's 17-day offensive are being met, participants of the meeting said.
Israel's latest air strikes also hit a Lebanese army base (aren't they supposed to fight the Hezbollah?) and a radio relay station and destroyed several roads (that's going to help civilians who are fleeing, right?).
I'm curious to know if the world has also given a green light to Israel to kill a boatload of innocent civilians and countless foreign nationals (including Canadians) who happened to be caught in the crossfire... unable to flee, mainly because Israel has destroyed all major roads and utilities... duh.
So now, ponder the "wise" words spoken by Ehud Olmert when he states that the "goals of Israel are being met".
It's very scary.

They estimate that probably 30-40 percent of the Lebanese military would support Hezbollah if it came down to that. The leader of Lebanon said he would have his Army fight Israel anyway, so if they shoot, they're going to get shot back at.
I'll bet before this is over that there are going to be people that wish they had left when they had the chance too. A large number of foreigners, like 10,000 Americans for one, were expecting a cease fire and wouldn't leave.
As for Bush backing, get your facts straight. The US has been pro-israel long for a long time and the Bush administration are picking up where other administrations have left off. I don't like Bush, but this is an American stance not peculiar to the bush adminstration. There are a lot of zionists in the United States.
