Okay so I am still stuck on the whole "living for yourself" thing, I am bored sitting at work so I decide to do a search on Google..
"..committed towards creating a life worth living for yourself", "Living for yourself is too self-centered. Living for yourself is too narrow a perspective to ever be able to judge the universe and yourself in it.", "What happens when you toss tradition out the window and really start living for yourself?", "Instead of living for yourself, promoting yourself, learn to serve and give to others. Instead of think of having the arrows point toward yourself", "Take a look at your life, are you living for yourself. Or, are you so filled with God's goodness that you can't help meet the needs of others"
Once I go through about 2 pages of search results, I finally get what the social issue is… It is religion. Okay so I know I am going to get attacked for this. I honestly think the main difference in what we believe boils down to what we are taught and religion plays a big role in that.
In general, religious people are taught to live for others. You can obviously see that by the internet search results. Some of us were taught to own our own happiness and others were taught to serve others.
I know this is random but I just wanted to share my thoughts…

Whatever the destination, there's multiple ways to get there.
