There should be some way to post content to a private group to replace the icons that otherwise default to the articles section. The way it works now, I invite someone to my private group and when they arrive they don't see anything. They are more apt to see the group as a waste of time, whereas if they were already members of the group they'd see relevant content.
I'm thinking of people outside of gather. For example, I started a group as a reunion site for my university class. I'd like to invite folks to join, but they aren't going to get it. They'll see the group home page -- see that there is no content there -- and figure it is just a waste of time.
Perhaps you could give us a longer initial description field. That way we could put a big disclaimer, "YOU MUST JOIN TO SEE CONTENT!" Or maybe the group manager could select certain articles to be published to everyone, while keeping all the rest private.
Ah, you guys are smart, you'll think of a good fix. Just pointing it out.
