I don't know how
I lost out on my fate
I'm hoping for love
but learning far too late
what my heart requires
to fill me with desires
loving what I cannot have
having what I cannot love
praying for deliverance
to free me like a dove
maybe one day I'll find
some quiet peace of mind
in the arms of a man
who is gentle and kind
who loves like a panther
who's prowling in the wild
with an innocent mind
with eyes that do beguile
I seek out perfection
in a world that's forlorn
and I risk rejection
due to hearltess scorn
but I'll travel one day
to a distant star
and find you whoever
and wherever you are
I look up to the sky
and I see the moon
and I ponder and try
to come up with a tune
perhaps you could supply
though I don't deign to fly
to the heights that you scale
with effort and grace
and all that entails
from the look on your face
maybe some day I'll soar
up to your lattitude
past the corporate whores
who sing lame platitudes
and maybe some day
if you're going my way
perhaps we can compose
songs lighter than the air
that surpass all those
who create without care
but until that day
I can honestly say
that I'll still write my words
until I pass away
with no hope of reward
that is monetary
but to match me with chords
that you create for me
if I must have a dream
or at least just a goal
blend my conciousness stream
with your melodic control
if we only made art
substituting for love
it could uplift our hearts
past the heavens above
these are the thoughts
that dwell deep inside
though I'm scared to impart
all the feelings I hide
in my heart

... otherwise.. a nice song.
Best wishes.
This song does not call for the sort of repetiton common in what I call "pop slop." I've already created one "mainstream" lyric with the sort of repetition you mention: play on might be more to your liking.
