Doughnut Hole Day is a great reason to go further with the coverage. Do you have any idea what happens to a person on meds for six months who suddenly has to stop them?
In the end this will cost the goverment more due to increased hospitalizations when these folks reach the "Donut hole" and do with out meds, cut back on meds, cut back on nutrition, or just give up!
It may not be just the missed med that will cause the hospitalization, but other problems associated with missing the medication. Increased dizziness and falls is one possibility. This leads to broken hips, surgery, rehabilitation. Then the decreased mobility leads to increased incidence of DVT's, pneumonia, skin breakdown, and urinary tract infection to name a few problems.
In my opinion, it would be lots cheaper to plug this hole before we have to start digging 6 foot holes because of the "Donut Hole"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
