What if a feather lit upon my shoulder
sticking there
Joined by a hundred others,
Could I finally ride on air?
What if a tear from our Madonna
dropped into my eye
Would I be blessed and for all of humanity
I'd cry?
What if the vision of a shaman wafted
through my brain
Changing my view forever
Would you count me as insane?
What if a spark of fire flew up and
landed on my tongue
Would my new songs be different from
the old ones I have sung?
What if a lovely petal from a flower
brushed my toe
If wind brought more before my feet
Would sunshine make me grow?
What if I dance completely naked underneath
the sun
Would this come back to bite me, thus
My freedom come undone?
What if I choose to live each moment,
Turn my back on time
Step out of this "reality"
Would I find life sublime?
What if I just stop eating, will my body
decompose
As my spirit finds nirvana,
Would I suffer in repose?
What if I'm struck by lightening
Standing 'neath a rowan tree
Would this swift illumination
Come to be the death of me?

As I fly above myself, watering with tears for all singing the shaman's song, I grow strong and naked in the sun spinning colors never seen with this new illumination.
Kerwin, you are so right.
Those are some what if's to ponder. And I'm glad you used the challenge words in the way you did.
Magi
Many thanks for this.
All I could come up with for "bite me" was being held down and getting chomped on. Her response, "Well, if you don't want to get bitten, why do you keep coming back?"
dm, I agree with you!
And Nathan, you are inviting Trouble!
Truly excellent poetry.
