internet dates

Yes, yes, I've dated someone I met online, quite a few actually. In the beginning I was hesitant.  But it soon got easier and easier.

  Roc.   My first Internet date was a guy named Roc.  He was a very handsome guy.  He was actually the first guy that I ever instant messaged.  We talked online for quite awhile.  He too loved to write.  For our first date we went out to dinner.  I had a wonderful time!  I was very nervous at first but ended up having fun.  For our second date, we went to the beach.  I think we had a few too many cocktails because when I got home, Roc called and told me he left his keys in my car.  I live 40 minutes south of Chicago.  I hate driving at night, and I don't know my way around the city that well.  But I couldn't leave anyone stranded like that and so I jumped into my car and headed back.  On my way back, just outside the city I ran into the scene of an accident.  All cars were being detoured.  Shit.  Detoured where?  Where the hell was I?  It took me two hours to find Roc.  When I did find him, he was drunk sleeping in his car.  Ugh.  I shook him awake and gave him his keys.. He should have had another set.   I didn't get home until 5:00 in the morning.

     Adrian.  Adrian was a smooth talker.  Had a really great phone voice, and a talent with words.   He was also extremely good looking. For our first date we went out to eat.  I arrived before he did and decided to wait for him in the parking lot, that way we could walk in together.  When I saw his described car pulling in I got butterflies.  Adrian jumped down from his car.  Literally.   He was no more then 5"4 at the most.  I don't have anything against short guys, it's just that I'm 5"8" and prefer taller men.   I decided to be lady like and continue the date.  We walked into the restaurant with his head at my shoulder and ate dinner.   Adrian's conversation was all about Adrian and spending the night at my house.  I don't think so.  After dinner I told him goodnight and went out with my friends.    

     Jeffery.    Jeffery was crazy.  He and I met.  I was not attracted to him and told him so.  But we had a common interest.  Music.  So we continued on that level.  We played together and did some recordings.  One day Jeffery called me.  He had landed a big contract laying tracks for a recording artist and could he please come and celebrate with me?  Sure, I said.  I was getting ready to go out and had a few minutes to spare.  Big mistake.  Jeffery knocked on my door with a bottle of tequila.  He sits on the couch and wants me to do some shots and celebrate with him. Whatever. The whole time he's talking about his contract and how much money he'll make.  Okay, enough already.  I don't care how much he's going to make, I'm still not interested.  I see flesh out of the corner of my eye.  Jeffery has bared himself and is very excited indeed. I turn to him and say, " Is that what I think it is?"(Stupid question.) I tell him to get his ass out and never call me again.. He does, but I don't answer.  The nerve.

     Robert.   Robert was the best date I ever had in my whole life.  By the time I started talking to Robert online, I was determined to never date again from that pool. He would ask me out and I 'd say no every time.  Finally I decided, why not?  Robert had just called me and said he would be willing to drive from Chicago just to take me to get ice cream.  How can a girl turn that down?  Robert pulled up in a gutted trans- am that needed a serious paint job.  The back seat was piled with car parts.  I climbed into the front seat and we went for ice cream.    I found that by the end of the cone I was thoroughly enjoying myself.  I agreed to go up to lakeshore drive with Robert and walk.  We did.  It was a dream date with a dream guy.   The moon was full and the waves were crashing.  I fully intended to kick it with Robert.  Then, an X came back into the picture and I foolishly stopped communicating with Robert.  Dumbass.

      I haven't dated in awhile, but every once in awhile the urge does come over me.  There are some things I  do differently and some the same.  When you pull from the Internet pool, sometimes you never know what you're going to get.
