I was on my way to the local reservoir to look for more swifts, coots and ducks when I got distracted by de bugs.

So I had to stop and investigate the small life ongoing about me and pretend to be the Jolly Green Giant (ho-ho-ho) in the local weedpatch enroute to hypermarket which encroaches on the local "protected nature area" surrounding the reservoir where the locals hang out in winter for ice-skating and in summer for sunlight and uninhibited public sex. They take lessons from the dragonflies and other assorted wildlife down there, but leave their garbage strewn over the ground along with copious amounts of beer bottles.
Needless to say, Europeans can't figure it out how Americans can get all riled up about something as neglibile and trivial as "Nipplegate" on tv while they enjoy the pleasures of air-baths in urban domain.
But the reservoir was largely deserted when I finally arrived and when I got home, I brought with me a swarm of bees

and a few new bugs to add to my collection.

shy guy who flutters about and hates to be photographed.
But I got right up close and friendly with the bees within a few inches.

different bee than above, but similar profession

different bee, different location, but still same profession
had zero interest in me or the larger world about him.

10 stars are not enough; you takie wonderful pics.
and there is a little bit of heaven. Sorry virtually no pics of Srbsko, but promise next time. Today was flutterbies---
and I still have to unload the camera-- so thanks for the encouragement because along the ridges which were mined as many as 800years ago, there are meadow grasses and thistles and nettles growing shoulder height. And nothing likes thistles more than flutterbies and eeyore...
jsut got back in-- and yup, out of batteries, memory, but not energy. all yo folks who are crazy about climbing, chimney climbin and repelling, Srbsko is the place to go. Promise to bring you some pics.
remember the first bug pics came from Srbsko. great area for bugs and Karlstejn is great for boars, but they aint the best folks to get friendly with. Had my encounter in the midst of a harem last year, very up close and personal.
yup-- you got it, but much. much older European settlement there than the mountains you're thinking of over in teh Rockies. And Tetin is at the top of a very high ridge
if you look in the frogstory, there's a picture of groowing beer with a white house under a humongous cliff which is decorated at the top with a church.
The Frog Who had Everything
look very closely above the white house and you'll see a church-- that's where I went today--
the town is ancient-- and was very important during teh Hussite Wars in 1420-1422 and many other wars
and is a very interesting, exciting place to cloimb around, even for fat old ladies
the Apollo is very hard to take a deent picture, but orange helps, particularly if it is not mashed carrot gather orange.
you too? I often think such foolish thoughts when I am looking at the world around me-- and when I get back on the train with all the ladies with bottle blonde hair and tweezed eyebrows, I wonder what went wrong.
I try to emasure their age against mine and although instinctively I know they are younger, I am mroe foolish and definitely never act my age.
and the frogs were singing ever so sweetly tonight.
stillo trying to catch swifts on wing and frogs are next target, so be patient with me. is like this.
I used to think that they had two: sting and sting, but bees get drowsy in the evening and you can see them sleeping on the thistles everywhere at dusk. So best time to go out and shoot bees is at dusk in a thistle patch or something like that.
