Here are a few haikus for you. I got the job I wanted & I will be able to keep my part-time job too. :) The tough part will be to tell the place that just laid me of (and made me a contractor again) that I'm leaving. The plan is for me to sneak in, get my personal desk chair back, and high-tail it outta there. Then on Thursday I leave for a cruise to Alaska. It's a much needed vacation after the summer I've had so far.
-----------------------------------------
Got a brand new job.
Leaving for Alaska soon.
Trip of a lifetime.
----------------------------------------
Glaciers from my window.
Breakfast in bed each day.
Spoiled rotten, yes indeed.
---------------------------------------
Alaskan King Crab.
On my plate with butter--dunk!
Pass me another.

Enjoy!
(and good luck on the new job!)
A cruise is like a huge building, like a hotel that comes with you. You do not feel it move at night while it sails to each location
If you ever sail out of Boston to Bermuda it's the cheapest vacation ever (no airfare and there are always sales) you will love it. That should be an easy (and cheap) cruise for you...I've done that one 3 times and once with 12 family members (way cheaper than renting a house for 12 on the Cape, I think it came in at $500 per person.)
I have not even looked up the type of whales I may see. I think it's Killer Whales but I'm not sure.
Yeah, my husband hates tropical vacations (he's very fair-skinned and freckled) so this is perfect for us.
Thank you. I will. I'll try to keep track of what I do and see. And of course after, I'll provide a link to my Shutterfly personal page.
I will not be doing a diary while I'm on the trip (internet is expensive while on a cruise ship if my bluetooth antena does not work). I will post photos on my Shutterfly homepage that I have. It's just a lot easier to do that (or post them in my LiveJournal) do to the fact that both of those support HTML and Gather does not in article creation. If I'm going to upload once to Shutterfly then I'll just give you all a link there. As my friend Heather would say: "Bam. Done"
But thank you for the congrats, I appreciate it!
Good on the job !
I prefer tent camping. :) Only in a tent with a tub bottom of course (I've had friends with VERY wet sleeping bags the next morning who did not have a tub bottom.) It's the only way I'll camp now.
Congrats on the new job!!!! I'm glad you're no longer working at LIS—they didn't deserve you. Now you just have to chase after them for the money they owe you :)
Enjoy your cruise!
