I finished a graphic art piece
not too long ago
The muse
We danced
was fun, but yet
the dance was over
too soon
bored and listless
anticipation on the side.
ready, warmed, and waiting
fidgety, didgety, widgety
a dog from an old cartoon jumps to mind;
What are we gonna do now?
Huh?
Huh?
Oh boy, let's do something, okay?
Huh?
Huh?
Come on..
let's do something..
I think
I could work on my sci-fi novel
or my abandoned rite of passage story
or doodle in mediums electronic, acrylic, wood, pen or pencil
I could read that book I've been pecking at
the cat litter box needs changed
Nah
I want to write something
something MOVING
something riveting
Some Love
Life
Drama
something exciting
something meaningful
something meaty
But nothing is calling
Engines running
full tank of gas
lacking direction
going nowhere fast
Singin' creative block blues

One of the lessons I've been taught regarding creativity is that when blocked, try incorporating it.
Here ya go.

Jessie - LOL - Glad you liked it. Just start out honest, then go funny.
Nice romp Bill.
I like that parting thought. "One of the lessons I've been taught regarding creativity is that when blocked, try incorporating it."
Here is another one: " An artist is only as good as his ability to incorporate his mistakes into his art."
My bumper sticker says "Dances with Muses" Dance metaphors work really well for me, and are how I often get myself writing or painting or drawing. Romp is right. I must say that the authoritarian approach rarely works well for me. Too mich of a rebel in my soul. As a matter of fact, this was penned by writing and not shutting up. - LOL -
Moving past blocks of consciousness
into liminal realms of may bes
Oh, see the image!
Wrecklessly emerging
into that inner eye
wispily whirling
gathering color and form
dancing me into collusion
