As I was watching the streak on the sky growing and diminishing, I felt that little heart of mine wishing that it was me up there at the end of the streak. Have you never seen the white streak from the fuel of an aeroplane, and wished you away?

The same thing happens to me when I sit in a car, I just want to keep going. The possibility of going places is constant in my life. I often say to my friend when we go for a drive "let's keep going till we reach the border." But they never take me up on the idea.
The thing I love about it is the feeling of going somewhere; it doesn't have to be planned. Spontaneous action is sometime even more thrilling. I guess I have a wandering heart and I long to go a see other places and experiences other ways of living, other cultures, or maybe just to go and smell the roses in the next town.
Have you ever felt the longing for a journey? Big or small? Long or short?
One day someone will take me up on the idea, some day I will go, even if I have to walk or bike to do it. One day!

Someday, you will go.
Mariana - I did do that last year. I went to Guatemala for 8 weeks. I do usually go away to a Spanish speaking country once a year, however this past year I have been waiting for my boyfriend to come over from Guatemala, and so I have not been able to plan anything.
Peter - I have so many dreams on where I want to go; Australia for one, USA on a road trip, Africa, South America from Columbia to Brazil, Papua New Guinea, Egypt with my nieces and nephews, India to visit old colleagues from work. You see that this would take a lot of my time as well. That why we here in Denmark say, that work takes too much of our free time. ;O)
Kathryn – It's exactly the feeling and sense of freedom I'm talking about.
Thank you all for commenting!
As long as its not all repetition. But by land it's very difficult to take of on a moments notice when you don't own a car, and you car only go so far on your bike before your b... start to hurt! ;O)
Dennis, do you mean I have connected with the souls of the old Vikings searching still for unknown territory. Perhaps you're right. I do like the thought. I just think that you feel so much more alive when on the road; you SEE more, that in the everyday life. Anything can turn into a momentum when travelling. A conversation; a chair; a park; the water; the flowers; the traditions: anything.
Thank you both for stopping by!
I like the "One Day" term you coined for this.
