Todaay, we went to the concert at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Florida. Carrie Underwood was the first act, but we arrived a bit late, and we weren't able to catch much of her performance. We did catch Dirks Bentley, who sang several songs, and my wife was happy about that. There were some younger women in front of us, and one of the women had dozed off, while the concert was going on, so eventually the group of women left before the onset of night.
Big and Rich sang a couple of their songs. By this time, we were hungry and a bit hot, so we got some over priced food at the stadium, and we were eating for most of Big and Rich's performance. Later, we asked if they did the patriotic 8th of November song, and we were told that no, they did not do that song.
The night proceeded and the sun sank below the edge of the opposite walls of the stadium. Gretchin Wilson took the stage and that was a very nice performance. Redneck Woman, All Jacked up, and some other songs were sung. She did a few rock songs, a bluegrass song, a jazzy number, and country hits, displaying her range.
Darkness was upon the sky when 9:30 rolled around and Kenny Chesney took the stage. We thought that the sound mixing board guy was slacking off, or something, because the electric guitars were too loud and there was too much reverberation of Kenney's voice. We left the stadium somewhat dissappointed. But we also wanted to leave early because we did not want to get caught up in the traffic leaving with those impaired drivers.

The last multiple act country concert I saw was with Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry and Brooks and Dunn, probably about 3-4 years ago. It was a spectactular show. The only disappointment to me was with Brooks and Dunn starting their show with "Only In America". Not that I don't like the song, I just thought it was a bit disrespectful for them to open a Canadian show with that particular song.
Thanks for sharing your concert with us, Marty.
We did a George Straight multi-act concert probably 4 or 5 years ago.
Hmm, maybe they didn't realize where they were. It is easy for performers on the road to forget where they are. Maybe they were intending it to be a grander North American Continent.
I like Montgomery Gentry. Toby Keith also has some quite good songs and quite a few good videos lately on CMT.
