Momma Kitty and Baby are back! I looked out this morning and they were on the porch, eating. I have seen them a time or two - once with the black kitten too, but not when I could get pictures. I opened the door and sat down behind the storm door. I was able to click away while they enjoyed a good morning meal.

My thoughts are that perhaps the black kitten is a boy, since he often is not with them or comes alone. I did see him later that day by himself. I could not get the camera in time to get any pictures, but he looks healthy.

The Momma Kitty and Baby even let Sylvester join them in the meal. I thought he might scare them off. He has been on the porch with hem before, but always laying down, not so close. They did not seem to mind at all.

They enjoyed some water together. They are so cute!

"What vintage is this water? It is quite good," Momma Kitty says. Then, with full bellies and anxious hearts, they knew it was time to be on their way. "That crazy lady with the flashy thing might come out and try to get us if we don't leave soon. Maybe she's nice though. I don't know? Maybe. Good grief, lady, enough with the flashy thing!"

I'd be cautious about letting one's cat(s) have such close contact with outdoor strays, though, given that one can't ever be certain of their health. I speak from experience; two outdoor cats (not quite strays, not quite pets) that I was helping to care for were found to have Feline AIDS, and as my own cat had been in contact with them, it resulted in multiple tests and months of uncertainty. He was given a clean bill of health eventually, but I wouldn't want to go through that again.
I do appreciate your kindness to these kitties though.
