Movie Review: Click starring Adam Sandler

OKOKOKO -- I can not resist. Released yesterday -- this movie is a relief for the theatrically down trodden who keep leaving the theatres wishing they'd stayed home and saved the price of the ticket. This movie is such a ride. It covers it all without being overwhelming. Adam Sandler -- maybe at his best. Kept it's momentum, kept it's focus, kept me engaged, surprises, twists, not predictable in the ho hum tradition of Hollywood. Tasteful (almost) it's like a kitchen filled with all the right spices. Great cast. A definite treat. I've paid to see it, I will rent it, I might even buy it one day.

I typically never have a desire to see a comedy at the cinema, and I think I will wait for this one to come out on DVD as well. Although, you have used the best phrase I have ever read in conjunction with a movie review:

"...like a kitchen filled with all the right spices.."

That alone might be enough for me to change my mind....!!

The movie was great. I laughed so hard that I almost choked and puked, and I was so moved that I almost cried. I never cry, so that's pretty good for me. Is it a modern twist on It's Wonderful Life? Sure, but it's done really well. I was thoroughly entertained and the movie gave me cause to reexamine my own priorities.

HI Kevin -- thanks... generally we only go TO the movies when there's great visual effects or when surround sound has been played up. We are in the process of moving and are hiding out during peak heat hours at the movies.

Typically we would have waited for this to come out as a rental. It covers it's bases - a little lightheartedness, a few predictable finger pulls, reality, good mix of cast characters Henry Winkler, Christopher Walker Julie Cavner , David Hasslehoff (was really freaky but good for his role) all good solid ensemble players. The movie is a mix of Everyman, It's A Wonderful Life and Meet Joe Black = = It's just enough that it doesn't leave you overwhelmed - it's evenly balanced in the yen-yang. I doubt it's going to win any huge epic awards, does the movie have a message without being preachy? yes. This movie treats the audience like members of a deep sea fishing crew. Throws out tons of line and lets you run with it - then? SNAP the line goes tight and they've gotcha.



Cathy, we check out Tomorrow morning at 10:40 AM and start driving. Right now we are trying to figure out how to arrange load the car/suv with the four footed family members. Going OK. I think.

Linda - - I'm sure someone could find something horrible about any movie - I suppose that's why there are so many movies -- kinda like an ice cream shop - everybody doesn't like every thing. Thanks!

My husband and I go to the movies every time we are in a city that has a theater! We are theater deprived up here. I love going to the theater -- the smell of the popcorn, the previews, the surround sound, the hugeness of the viewing. Until I read this post, I would probably not have selected Click as an option as the title tells so little. Thanks for the tip.
