Hi, all. All 3 of you, that is.
I'm going to start (or at least plan to start) writing some previews for the upcoming season.
Who is your team? I'll probably try to hit on teams that our fledgling membership has an interest in first.
Please let me know.
My team? Go Vikes!
All are invited to join the Pro Football Group

Ah . . . the bravado of youth impacted by the unfortunate reality of real life experience.
Go Packers.
I've been a pseudo Pats fan for awhile because they're The Team of one of my best friends. I think they've won enough Super Bowls for awhile, though.
That's why last year confused me.
(And that ties into J.P.'s mild shame over being a Cowboys fan. Remember the early-to-mid-90's? Everything is cyclical.)
I hate the fuckin' Cowboys.
It's actually good for potential NFL drama: Parcells vs. T.O.
[I have no idea what's going on with them lately since I stopped really following the game at all. I just know that I was raised to love the Cowboys.]
I guess the point is I just love a good pro football game!
Belichick's not done owning the NFL just yet.
New stadium and all sold out already. Yeah, I had a hard time believing it too. Must be because we finally got some air conditioning.
P.S. Don't you love it when communism takes root in the NFL?
Don't worry, KR, America's Bandwagoners will be jettisoning the pack any minute now.
I think Bidwell is the only private owner left isn't he?
What do you think Jake? Is Culpepper going to do anything for us in Miami? I'm highly skeptical, but I guess it can't get any worse for the Dolphins at the QB position.
You know what Culpepper is going to do for Miami? Emarrass them by wetting his uniform when he faces the Patriots linebackers twice a year.
More later.
Sorry we took your team John S. We love them here too.
Now that we got rid of Martz we shall have to wait and see. I'm hopeful.
It might take a few years to build a good team now that we have the left overs of Martz's dismantling.
I miss my guys....Prohl and Wistrom.....the Viking Gods. : )
I speak to a guy who does some scouting for the Rams. They are glad Martz is gone, so what does THAT say?
I'm just saying, if we make it to the play offs this year, I'll be thrilled.
Adam - here's another thing to get your Patriots fired up. 2 years ago when the dolphins went 6-10 or whatever their pathetic record was, one of the teams they did manage to beat was the Patriots. That one must have hurt.
I don't think he's quite smart enough to be a really effective NFL QB. I've never heard anybody come right out and say that but that's what it seems like to me. It shows up in his inability to read defenses and his inability to react well to pressure.
Given enough time in the pocket, he can be an extremely accurate passer. But he is horrible at making multiple reads quickly and freaks out and makes really bad decisions under the slightest amount of pressure.
He takes A LOT of sacks that he should not take.
The "small hands" things seems true to me. He fumbles A LOT. After you watch him awhile, you'll be able to see it coming. He will be looking downfield to his right and then he will start cocking his arm to throw completely oblivious to the blind side rusher that is going to knock the ball out his hand. He also just drops the ball frequently when he's scrambling in the backfield.
In my opinion, the reason he and Moss were a perfect pair is that Culpepper basically always needs the option of being able to throw an 80 yard bomb (and if you ever get a chance to see -- live, in person -- one of those actually thrown, it is amazing).
If that option is there on every single play, he will connect on it once or twice a game and you will get points.
Culpepper is an amazing physical speciment. 6'5" and 265 (easy) of solid muscle. The guy is a stud. One thing he will not do is wet his pants over some linebacker.
He used to lower his shoulder and run through those guys. My guess is those days are over due to the injury, but we'll see. He's a big dude.
And I have to be honest Jake, you referring to Culpepper as an amazing physical specimen and a stud is a little scary.
See and what Adam missed is that I'm actually a much bigger Broncos fan than the Dolphins and I'm fairly sure the Broncos beat the Pats last year in pretty important game. Oh yeah, I remember now, they knocked the Pats out of the playoffs. I'll have to go back and check my Tivo to see if anyone on the Pats wet their pats during the game.
For some reason, I don't hate the Bronco's
Cheap $%^@%^^*$ owner........;-)
But I do root for them -- as long as they aren't playing against the Skins!
Cards spent money this year didn't they? Edgerrin didn't come cheap.
Much like you Viking fans, I have a high tolerance for pain.
As mentioned before, new stadiums indoors has had a positive impact on teams in the past.
I think it's an interesting team to watch, as well.
Denny Green is a weird dude, but overall I think a pretty good coach. I grew tired of him when he was coaching my Vikings but he usually had the Vikes in the hunt even if his inability to win important games was epic (hard to blame him for the missed field goal in the '98 NFC Championship game against the Falcons but still).
No hatred here - J.P just looking forward to some good old fashioned smash-mouth NFC East football - AND at least we're not Redskin or Eagle fans:P
I also cheer any team playing the Cowboys - my favorite moment was watching Skeletor (Jerry Jone's) face melt when Romo was intercepted in the end zone and NY upset Dallas enroute to their 7th world championship.
Yes NY has 7 - Chicago has 9 and Green Bay has twelve - I don't know why people only count the "Super Bowl era".
following that logic - we should only count basball since the designated hitter and the NBA since the 3 point shot
