And Donna, I know, that's why I love it. I almost did Brad and Jennifer Aniston.
(By the way, I never really liked U2 that much anyways, but why the hell did Bono want to name himself after Sonny?)
U2 = strike 2
Am I back at the bench yet?
That's completely normal. I'm just selective
U2 straight sucks and Bono's an ass.
The Nora Jones part was me striking you out, not by who you don't like, but who you like...ewww.
Bono may be an ass but U2 does not suck. That's just silly.
a) not the best band ever, that would be The Stones
b) Yes they do
And he did love her to his dying day. You could always see it in his eyes. A sort of sadness as he introduced new legislation or proposed an amendment of some sort.
(Yes, I do watch too much C-SPAN.)
Kirk, that's very artistic imagery for the average c-span viewer.
John, start me up is freaking awesome and even my favorite Zeppelin song "Der Maker" is worse than that and it's not even one of the Stone's best pieces.
And sorry, but I worked at a guitar store, so I really don't like Stairway to Heaven.
I wouldn't have mentioned Stairway to Heave for exactly that reason. D'yer Maker is not a bad choice.
Start Me Up is the worst song ever in the history of the world.
I Got You Babe is 10 times more interesting that Start Me Up.
Yes.
No.
Deffinately no.
you've given me inspiration here..

Now Stones or Zeplin, Hmm. Beatles, The Who, The Monkeys just to name a few, are bands I like better than those two. Don't get me wrong, they both put out some good music, but the Stones were upstaged by Guns & Roses, and Zeplin wasn't around long enough to hit bottom. Remember What goes up must come down. Look at Hendrix.
He's got a good point
I'll also accept the Monkeys and the Stones in the same sentence.
I'm having difficulty with the concept that Zeppelin wasn't around long enough but Guns -n- Roses was. There is some sort of conflict in the logic there.
B) no fucking way, the stones at least played their own instruments
I didn't say that part, he did
I saw those Monkee interviews when they were heading to stage with their instruments in hand. Please remeber that they were entertainers, hand picked for the new Television era. If I'm spending big bucks cutting an album, I want the best in the business playing the instruments.
Right before Sonny & Cher. Although Cher can actually sing. She was a scamp, a tramp and a bit of a vamp, she was a V-A-M-P Vamp! (How's that for pulling one out of my ass -- way before your time.)
I'm a huge, HUGE G-N-R fan so no worries there (Jayne will soon chime in about how they suck). I bet they did blow the Stones away on that tour. I'm pretty sure I remember hearing they did. Still, I don't think you can put them in the same league as the Stones even though the Stones wrote Start Me Up, which is the worst rock and roll song in the history of the world, the universe maybe.
I hate NIN, although I love some of their older videos and I secretly like "Closer"
What about Van Halen while we're at it? Because they freaking own GnR
Have you ever heard the spagetti incident? Proof that even GnR can falter.
And I've never seen the video, but I'm sure I would hate the song being as how I actually like Soft Cell and I can't stand bad covers.
The Spaghetti Incident is almost as bad as whatever album Start Me Up is on.
Check this out. Edward Van Halen
I agree that Eddie getting Valerie was a real downer.
Actually it looks like 2 dicks gave me a low rating.
Like I said though, I'm not stressing on it.
In my defense, I really hate GnR for only two reasons. A stripper girl I worked with, and hated, danced to them ad infinitum and the association become inescapable. And Axel Rose has a voice that shreds my eardrums.
A friend once told me he would rather have Nine Inch Nails driven into his skull than listen to them again. I LIKE NIN. But that's kind of how I feel about Axel...
Why at 10:15 pm, you might ask. That would be an excellent question to which I would answer who fucking cares -- they're done! Peace.
Thanks Gretel.
sorry...i'm a little sensitive because i'm going to see them friday night.
It's just not my style of music. I'm not into industrial much and the only remotely gothic band I really care for is Bauhaus
I wouldn't even mind seeing NIN live. I'm sure they put on a great show.
Two) I like the new blood at Gather (or as I privately refer to them - Refugees from MySpace). Gather is much better than when I first joined (back in the day - early May).
When I was new to the site there was a whole rash of discussion over 'lists.' Some people felt that the lists helped introduced them to new writers others felt it was just high schoolish but overall there was no meat to the debate.
I love the term myspace refugees though. Can I steal it?
