The joy of modern technology by Mona S. Svendsen
Since I've joined Gather
I have had to weather
The battle to sleep
Because at anytime day or night a message would "beep"
My mail server sends a text message to me,
Every time I receive a mail from my friends at Gather to see
You guys don't rest
Life has been added a little zest
But I will not miss out on anything
Waking up at all hours to that little "ding"
Alas I've had to create a new profile
On my cell phone called sleep
Silencing that little bleep
And messages can now come in a pile
But ahh, modern technology is a joy
The messages that you sent, will no longer with me toy
As I once again can rest and have a good nights sleep
Not noticing that joyous bleep

I enjoyed your poem with its simple sentiment of loving Gather and being overwhelmed by it at the same time. I share the feeling and it makes me smile to know that others feel the same way.
Off course the time difference also apply in my case, since I sleep when most of the Gather people comes home from work ready to hit the keyboard. ;O)
love it
