First, march with Tim Baylor, Becky Lourey's (D-Governor) running mate, at the Annual Juneteenth Walk for Cancer Awareness and Survivorship for African Americans. The lineup starts at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17 at the corner of Penn and Plymouth in Minneapolis. Juneteenth is the oldest known commemoration of the end of slavery and Minnesota knows how to celebrate. The event includes gospel, reggae, R&B music and dancing, as well as an art contest, a drill team show and much more.
If you live anywhere near Chaska, there's the DFL Summer Riverfront Bash at the Best Western Chaska River Inn & Suites this Saturday, June 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. The Inn is located at 1 River Bend Place (Highway 41 and 1st Street) in Chaska, Minnesota. This is your opportunity to meet the DFL lineup. Attendance is expected by Coleen Rowley (US House), Rebecca Otto (State Auditor), Gary Devaan and Marcia Krueger (MN House), Laura Helmer (MN Senate), Matt Entenza (Attorney General), a representative from Amy Klobuchar's (US Senate) office and more. There will be a cash bar and a $10 suggested donation.
Also on Saturday, Gubernatorial candidate, Becky Lourey, will attend a parade and Dedication of the Sandstone Area Veterans' Memorial in Railroad Park, Sandstone, MN. The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. and Becky will be riding as part of the Jack Pine Motorcycle Club. She has stated that it is ok to wear a Becky Lourey pin in memory of her son, Matt, but since this is not a campaign event, political T-shirts and signs would be inappropriate. The dedication is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and attendance is a great way to honor our veterans.
