Thirty years ago today
We were up Wyoming way,
Both of us about to say...
I do.
That was many years ago
And we loved each other so.
Who could have forseen the woe
'Twas due.
Still the memories linger on
And I wonder what went wrong
As I sing my mournful song
To you.
Tried to be your loving wife
For the balance of my life.
Sorry there was so much strife.
Aren't you?
Now we both have different mates,
Each with different wedding dates.
Till we pass those pearly gates,
Adieu.
Heaven's such a different place.
God will surely grant us grace
Once again our love to taste
Anew.
