Cheery change

Feeling like leaving just now

Forgetting this polluted city life

We start for a far away serene village

For fun filled times with my darling wife.

With clear blue sky and pure cool breeze

Simple people with open minds and golden nurture

And all love with warmth of their hearts

We would enjoy in the absence of jealous city culture.

Dawns and dusks of multi colored beauty

Village laughter and friendly chimes

Along with seasonal bliss and lush green horizon

We would forget hustle bustle city times.

Spring has come with toddling steps

Hopeful retreat is sprouting in my mind

O' dear darling love and my companion

Let us leave just now, away from this grind.

Manoj - I had to smile when reading this. It could have been my own husband and I mid-July in Phoenix - desperate to escape the baking pavement and traffic of the city and suburbs!

(Just kidding, Spain is great too in its little villages.) But you have more, you have community and identity there. An affirming poem.

The hardest thing about getting out of the city: Getting out. In LA the traffic snarls for miles before you can get away from this concrete ghetto.
