I'm finding a bunch of stories in the news that have continued over and above their original purpose and have eroded the rational spectrum of sanity thus giving me more agita then I rightfully deserve and forcing me to whine more then I do.
First off I see the continued FBI investigation for Jimmy Hoffa at the horse ranch in question as a total waste of tax payer dollars. If you actually think that they will uncover a shallow grave full of Hoffa's bones you might as well run down tonight to your local OTB office and place $10,000 bucks on Barbaro to win. Those supposedly involved with his disappearance are not stupid enough to ensure that any evidence, especially the victim's remains, are going to be found. Unless of course they are sending a message to those of their own, but that's another story for another day.
Secondly, the other story that continues to drag on and on and on is the Barbaro story. Look I'm a admirer as much as anyone else of the beauty, strength and grace that horses have, but c'mon already with the hour to hour, day to day drama that the media is playing out.
I love the Dixie Chick's music but do we have to continue with this charade of a witch hunt? So they criticized the President, so what! Do we have to go as far as to ban their music from radio stations? Hey, if you are offended by their outspoken rebellious comments then don't buy their music. Then turn off the radio when a song of theirs comes on. But I don't like others deciding for me what I should and shouldn't listen to.
Too many alligators attacking these days has kept you locked in your house? Even if you are in New York? Once again this is a story that is getting afforded way too much importance or significance. No, there is not a national disaster involving rampaging, pissed off hungry alligators, dragging people from their cars and houses. Yes I understand that there has been three recent cases of death by alligator in Florida. But lets rationalize this for a moment. Florida is the home to alligators. Over the past 5 to 10 years more and more people have encroached on the natural habitat of the gator. And there's a drought going own in Florida which is causing these menacing dragon like monsters to strike. Trust me, you will be seeing trailers for an upcoming alligator flick soon.
Are you really surprised on the allegations a federal court that the government sponsored mortgage company Fannie Mae manipulated its books in order for top executives to receive big bonuses? I hate to say this but for years the brokering of mortgage loans, especially to minorities has been nothing short of loan sharking.
And while I don't watch American Idol I will offer forth my pick for tomorrow night's winner. The winner will be (I only go with bets that are 50/50) is Taylor Hicks with a 58% winning vote percentage.
Good night...
