I love all three! The third one is especially moving. I live in a tourist town, but in the winter the beach is absolutely empty. Nothing makes you feel more insignificant or alone, but somehow at the same time a part of the universe, then the sound of a lone gull & waves crashing. Beautiful haiku :)
Cheryl, this is a heartfelt poignant poem that I like it very much. I think it is only in our realization of just how small we are, that we can begin to make something of how big our cosmos, our life, our universe is. Well done.
Three very nice haiku, Cheryl. I like the phrase "sandcastle for two". Fascinating--and sad as it turns out. I know that feeling of "small" when standing by the sea. Very humbling!
