Location: Commercial Building Elevator, St. Paul, Minn.
I overheard two men in their late 20s / early 30s talking about their legal careers. Their conversation was slightly loud and they didn't seem to mind talking about their cases in the crowded elevator. It seemed all pleasant and there was some banter until one said,
"I only hope I don't become everything I despise."
Whoa. I think everyone in the elevator stiffened and pointedly looked anywhere but at the two in conversation. It was brutal and honest and unexpected in such close quarters.
Have you ever had a moment where you said this out loud? Thought it? When? Why? Did you share it with someone close to you?
