I wrote this poem after observing with keen interest the US government's shabby treatment of an old friend: Saddam Hussein. Watching in disgust the televised dehumanizing process of this former friend, the following words clamored for attention. Months later, we're seeing a new reincarnation of love, an act played out in the camera's eye of a budding relationship between the world's Superpower and her latest crowned stooge.
I dedicate this poem to Iraq's new Interim President in the hope that he will learn a few things from the recent history of his fellow country man: Saddam Hussein.

Â
Friends come and friends go
And so it was with the brave boy
Of Babylon.
A friend indeed this Saddam,
Reagan knew.
The Ayatollah this friend overran:
The brave boy of Babylon,
We slapped his back
And added cache to the cash.
Friends come and friends go
The brave boy of Babylon had to go.
Saddam's old friend,
Mr.Rumsfield was all for war
To cut a hand he once shook
And so was Bush
If only to follow in Dad's steps.
The elusive WMD???
As you all know
We looked here
And we searched there
And now remains only the boy's hide.
Who knows what deposits holds this mouth?
His tongue the safe haven perhaps?
Hand me the gloves
Flash the light and let's count
The dead in the grizzly hair.
A friend in a hole
Is a foe indeed!
Beware friends
Cozy not up to us
Sit not comfy
Friendship for us
Is a dangerous game
The one we make
That one we break
Beware!
Today's friend
Is
Tomorrow's
Foe!

Uncle Sam is in habit of betraying his freinds, one of them is Pakistan. I recommend this poem of yours to President of Pakistan Musharaf.
I hope they stuff a pig up his ass before they hang him. Saddam is a piece of shit.
If the pig idea goes through, I know the perfect one for the job.
Why are you surprised? Politics on the world stage is a bare knuckle sport. One moment you are a friend and the next moment you are an enemy. Unfortunately this is how the real world works. It is naïve to think this behavior is exclusive to the US. You could write your poem about any nation in the world.
You do agree with me here, the man is made in America, right?
Your comments are appreciated.
that's some f...lang.your using here...I hope you've read the poem....understanding is the key.
Thanks for stopping bye.
Not only surprised, but shocked as well....you see am not a politiican.
Sandy I will pay for your one way ticket to Dubai or any other stinking muslim country of your choice. Please, you will love it there.
wanna p...ke some more, I suggest you check out the old Saddam/Rumsfield handshake...buddy buddy times, weren't they? Go to articke image, page 2. to avail yourself of these happy times.
As for torture rooms, rapes, etc. how about a visit to Iraq...All Ghuraib perhaps rings a bell? some of the pics. I store at my other site makes me want to you know what.
As for sending sane Sandy off to Dubai, that's a very nice idea, many families (many from Europe and America, etc.) are moving there to give their kids healthy values..not the kind of sickness we saw US soldiers indulging in.
