photos of when

I was young

and saw only

strangers

 

though the

one I wed

was there but

then divorced and

so were the

kids before growing

tall

 

yet the

figure that once

was me seemed

strangest of them

all

Funny how you can change so much you don't even recognize yourself! We are not those people anymore just memories of people we once were.

Succinct thoughts here....

Thought provoking. You've also got a figure there in your three stanza format!
Do you ever look at recent photos and realize you've been thinking of someone as they used to be, as younger than they are now?

Thank you, Karen. As to the figure, yes, I've been playing with forms as of late. And I have noticed that about photographs - they remind me of a truth: that we mostly see a memory of people before our eyes rather than seeing them as they are in the here and now.

Yes, Marinela, reborn! I am me, at last, and without the haunting shadows.
Isn't that the truth of the matter? However, I personally thing the one I was is not the person I was intended to be. She was just the sapling, yet to be shaped into the tree.
And now, Renda, you are that tree ... and a lovely one at that!
