Yesterday 5/20/06 was a beautiful Minnesota day. The temperature was around 70, the sky was sunny for part of the day & then cloudy for another portion. Not much wind and nothing to worry about for the day.
I started out cleaning, and doing some packing. Then my sister came over and brought some stuff for our Moving Sale that we are having at my house next weekend. We loaded it all in the garage except for the yellow ware bowls & Longaberger baskets, those came in the house. The we unloaded a lawn mower. My grass was crazy long because my mower is in Texas with hubby, and I don't really know many people in this neighborhood to ask someone to let me use their mower.
So I asked her to show me how to use it. Prime the motor 3 times, push down the lever & pull the cord, It started! So I mowed for a couple of minutes.
Granted, this is my 1st time mowing the grass, ever, in my life. I know, and I call my daughter a princess.
I got bored with mowing, stoped & sister put it in the garage for me. The we, including my daughter set off to do some shopping. We went down to the Rosedale area and went to Archivers. My daughter & I wanted to make some cards. While most of our craft stuff is packed, we knew they made card kits with all the items included in a pack. So while we browsed there, my sister went to Pier One Imports next door. When we were both done at those stores we met at this consignment shop called Turn Style. Lo and behold, my daughter actually found 2 pairs of much needed shorts there. I bought 2 knick-knacks & my sister bought a skirt.
Then we went over to Rosedale Mall. Last week Jackie & I went to Aeropostale and bought a pair of jeans & they forgot to remove the anti0theft device, so she hasen't been able to wear them at all. We were going to go back to the store & have them remove it, except we had the wrong mall! We went in, looked at the mall map, realized our error & left. Shortest time I have evern spent in a mall!
We left and went to Lino Lakes to go to Kohls & Target. 1st Kohl's, they had some great deals on tank tops. I bought 1 Jackie got 2 & I bought 2 pj tanks to wear to bed. Onto Target next door. We browsed here for awhile. I got a few groceries and looked at pictures (I want some black & white pictures for my bedroom) and didn't buy much of anything for my $42.00.
Now it was time to bring Jackie to her friends house for a sleep over. Wow were they back in the woods of Chisago City! It was pretty easy to find, but boy was there dirt road a hilly mess. It was like dringing for a half mile over speed bumps. Dropped here off & then we went back to my house. I had to put my groceries away.
After that was done, we decided to drive over to Wisconsin and go to the Super Walmart over there. My sister wanted to buy a sweater as it got a little chilly & she wanted a disposable camera. She is getting ready to make plans for an addition on her house & wanted to take pictures of houses she liked, the style.
Walmart was busy as usual, but we were in and out pretty quickly. We decided to drive around St. Croix Falls & see if there were any homes she liked and wanted to photograph, there was 1. Then back to Minnesota in Taylors Falls. We found another 1 or 2 homes to photograph & then it was time for some dinner.
I really wanted to try this restaurant called Tangled Up in Blue, but their menu on the outside of the door showed us that a dinner was close to $30, too much for either of us!
So we settled on Eichtens, the buffalo restuarant. My other sister works there & she was waitressing last night. I ordered the buffalo burger with cajun cheese. Vicki ordered the basil chicken linguinie with pine nuts. Both were very good. My sister that works there ended up taking her break and was eating the Walleye with wild rice & she brought it to our table so I could taste it. Oh I wish I had ordered that! It was so delicious. I may have to go back again, very soon.
Once dinner was complete, I drove us back to my house & Vicki got in her van & headed home. The end of our beautiful day together.
For the rest of the evening I was home alone, relaxing. I did some writing, visited my plastic surgery message board & watched the news.
A satisfying Minnesota Day

Lynn, Super Walmarts aren't that big in Minnesota....yet. But in Texas, oh my goodness, that is all they have here! Walmart is crazy down here.
