I'd like to have a funeral like that,
Like the one the old man, like Eric had
Where we talked of his life and we all sat
In an atmosphere - not overly sad.
Tasteful it was with music so lovely.
With a touch of real class 'twas dignified.
Valerie, young Eric, Mary and me,
Rob, Moya, Emma, Aidan smiled and cried.
Remembering the sad and happy days,
The war, evacuation, birth and death,
We laughed and sighed at the turn of a phrase,
Warmed by the love that we felt with each breath.
Surrounded by family, that's the key.
That's how I'd like my funeral to be.
