Liz, I am assuming that the 'page' you are referring to is either your namespace page, or your 'My Groups' page. In both cases, the order is determined by the date that the group was created, with most recently created groups appearing first. There is not a way to change that right now that I am aware of. Although I am hopeful that we will see this change in the next release.
