My story is very unique and I want to share this with everyone on Gather so that they can be more mindful of their property and how they conduct business. My story doesn't even have anything to do with my dog but a family like dog that belonged to my brother.
The story takes place back in about 97 ish. I don't really know the year. I'll first give a little background and then go more in depth with the story. My mother and father divorced when we were just young pups at the age of like 4 and 5 respectively. So every summer my brother and I would spend a couple of weeks with our father since we only went down every other weekend. Also as a side note my step dad has never been a pet person. We had two cats and that was a handful for him. He did not want any other animal in the house because he knew he would end up taking care of it.
So one mourning my brother goes down to the animal shelter with my mother and picked out a peer breed dog (I can't remember the name.) and they got the dog that day. The dog was beautiful and the whole family loved her. However the day that they got the dog my brother and I we meant to go see our dad. So my brother and I drive an hour down to our fathers and spend two weeks down. It was a great time we went fishing a lot and took a couple of trips. We always loved going fishing with our dad because it was so relaxing and comforting.
When my brother and I came back from my dads one Sunday night my mother never said much in the car on the way home. She almost looked like some one in the family was very hurt and she could not stand to see us or to tell us. When we arrived at our house my grandmother and grandpa were sitting at the table crying and out aunt was at the house with her daughter Janelle sobbing into a tissue. My brother and I looked at one another and were very curious as to what has happened. Then mom sat us down and told us this story.
My Mother talking to me"Last Wednesday we all went out to get something to eat. But before we did that a call came in from some guy looking to buy our RV. He said that he would come over tomorrow and look at it and test drive. So we all went to Apple Bees to get some grub and put the dog in the kennel out side. When we came home something seemed off, the gate to the yard was left open and there were tire marks all over the driveway. When we looked around we saw that your dog had been run over and we feel that the guy who wanted to look at the camper ran her over on accident. We tried to figure out who it was but we don't know.
Kevin and I just looked at one another and started crying. My mother said that the funeral would be held today and we would bury her in the back yard. That was a very sad day for our family. To love someone for such a little time to see them disappear in a flash was very hard.
Our family will never forget the treachery we received and to this day are very protective of our dog Angel a Chinese Shar-pei. For those of you that have lost I greave for you. But to a member of your family taken by a villain only few can witness this injustice.
A little side note to all people Be Nice, just be kind and don't live life with anger. That is the only way we can move on from injustice.
