Wow, this poem sobered me right up, Kathryn. I see the honesty of humanity in here, but there is also a hilarious pun involved, too. Don't know you well enough to know what you are saying, but to me it says that everyone's poop stinks...
c.w., well, like in the poetically incorrect words above, when I write about my life, sometimes I wonder how people will react. But I write it anyway, because I think it is important to get the dirt out, to reveal the dirt we all have in common.

I had no idea this would engender such an image...but just goes to show how people have such wonderful and individual reactions to the same piece of writing...What I like about gas is you can adjust the temperature quickly, compared to electric, which is necessary in French cooking. But yeah, about the flavor, completely agree Cathy.
Bingo, Hannah !!! I think the grit (and poop, too) is important to share !! No nicecy nice writings without the reality that hey, we all bleed, people aren't perfect, the lives we write about (marriages, too) are real, poop and all. An explanation for why I write the way I do about my life...it's roses and poop, flesh and dreams...
Hm, I prefer cooking on a gas stove--it somehow seems hotter and quicker, and there is kind of a power there kind of like running a footrace on a cinder track.
I would really like to know what circumstance inspired this poem? What made you want to write it? Were you cooking something other than the ordinary? Is the last line a laugh or joke about what you have written? Wait! I think I have gotten this...it's about making love on the beach after a messy barbeque on the sand...how grand!
Manoj, yeah, I wrote that line, and thought - what did I just write? Is that what I intended? Not really, but my subconscious must have. Sort of two meanings - my subconscious must have been working overtime on this one...!!!
Jan, my mind must work in a very mysterious way. A couple of people had commented in the last couple of weeks that they thought some of my writing was very personal, maybe even very, very personal and maybe uncomfortable for me or for them, not really sure, but I got to thinking that I think it is important for me to write what is really real, because that is what makes us all human, things we share...Does that answer your question? So, these lines just popped out at me...and I wrote them...
