I see you through glass darkly
autographed in my mind
our difference shines out starkly
yet we have much in kind
I feel your spirit move past mine
through endless arcade halls
the mirrors broken in a line
through incandescent walls
what could we do
we will never meet
our paths won't cross
along the street
I waste my time
in poetry
because our fates
weren't meant to be
our destiny
my dreams are technocolor
with senses open to
the possible endeavor
towards nothing left to do
our ghosts they haunt each other
as sleep wafts over us
we've taken with another
out of fear or of trust
why must I dream
of you and wake
an endless stream
I can't forsake
I must control
my thoughts of you
sadness takes hold
of love so true
because of you
it wasn't meant to happen
regardless of our dreams
my fantasy's a weapon
against the cosmic schemes
that pull our sacred karmas
back to reality
I can't sustain the drama
of notes that sing in key
perfect harmony
it's not meant to be
our destiny

Cheryl, I don't exaclty hear music when I write lyrics. It would be nice to hear what you're hearing and to have it become concrete notes that can be recorded. I'm still looking for a musician with whom I can collaborate. Maybe someday in the future that will happen.
