From a country girl to a city one
Flapper girl to a Depression teen
Her demeanor full of giggling fun
And Momma's grace already seen

Daddy swept away her heart
Long waiting years and then a babe
Easy motherhood she did impart
Two children, husband, the family made
Bubbling laughter, listening friend
Knitting, sewing for every child
Rice pudding helped the sick to mend
Tending her roses all the while
Grandchildren, even those not hers
Climbed upon her ready lap
A story about a kitty purr
Or lullaby, while arms around them wrap
Even now her laughter's here
Her gentle touch, her love's caress
Though she is gone for many years
I think I hear her none the less

Me? I must remember to call, must remember to call, must remember to call. Did you know that Mother's Day is the busiest long distance phone call day of the year? Old AT&T statistic for ya...
Jess--your dad found that picture from the 50's in a bunch of slides.
Even now her laughter's here
Her gentle touch, her love's caress
Though she is gone for many years
I think I hear her none the less... let her soul rest in peace in her heavenly abode.

I known what you mean. 12 years gone and I can still hear my mother's voice. She still answers my questions.
Mariana, Peg, Dawn--I wish for others who didn't have such a relationship with our moms as you and i did, some bond that closely resembles this love.
This is beautiful Carol.
