we are sitting in a state of ennui
watching television till we sleep
there is no excitement in our lives
so we watch other people live
we are devoid of ecstacy or joie de vivre
therefore we cease to exist
if only there were some other way to plug in
but you need a modem to surf the Net
so we shuffle nonexistently and pray
for some kind of Deus ex machina
nothing sweeps us away into heaven
so we sit on our hands and wonder
