This site is for writers and readers. The readers are well served with Gather Points connetction to Barnes & Noble (although personally I a pathological about buying books from my local independent bookseller).
What about something for the writers? Here's what I was thinking. Isn't there some way that we could write a lot of good stuff, and have that result in opportunities to pitch to agents or publishers (a foot-in-the-door opportunity)? Or maybe use points to attend a writers conference or workshop.
It would be better if the points could be directed toward things that are useful for career writers. A shot at publication in a major magazine or journal. Or, for XXX points, my essay would be critiqued by Ruth Reichl or some other well-known editor.
Am I crazy? Or is there a way to use my points to advance my career?

FYI - I emailed Concierge.com and asked for comments about my entries, and if they would like to read any future articles. They responded:
"We will be sure to contact you if there is an interest."
BUT - at least I was read!
I like the Booksense idea, but I don't think there is a general Booksense Gift Card.
