How wonderful that a casual commercial gave you an idea to take a look at those almost forgotten things in your wallet! It is like taking an inventory of one's own self, an authentic one.

As I am moving on Saturday, I have the oddest things in my purse at the moment, and somenot so odd. Anything I need to be able to lay my hands on goes in. In addition to driving directions and confirmation printouts for all reservations, I have tossed in tweezers and my eyeglass screwdriver. Oh, and there's a book to read at lunch here, and a resident gave me a jar of homemade mustard a few hours ago.

An open package of cinnamon gummy bears, 6 or so opened packages of gum...I had a Shout stain remover packet that had been in there for a year, but I offered it to a friend who needed one and we found it had dried out. I don't clean my purse very often!

Many moons ago, my car died in the middle of New Hampshire . . . I lived (at the time) in Central Massachusetts. I needed a tow. At first I thought I just need a jump . . . and the guy that came by with the jumper cables was a mean nasty man.

My car started, I was driving maybe 10 minutes when my car died again.

Someone else came the second time. I think if the first guy came by, I would have asked if I could ride in my car. He was that unpleasant. I don't know if it is still an option with AAA Gold, but at that time, they would ow you up to 100 miles.

Second Tow Truck driver: Is tha in the 100 mile radius?

Me: ummm, sure. You bet.

I wish the story was more exciting, that it involved hula girls, and monkeys on roller skates . . . but it didn't. I am thinking the night before, my car had died (I am a slow learner), I called some friends and was picked up by someone in a Wonder Woman costume. So I guess that could add some flavor.

Cat, I'm not telling because I haven't carried a wallet in years. There was a time when mine resembled yours ;-)

Good for you, Sandy! I try to just carry pockets, you know. So my purse and wallet are for storage, mostly.

I'm not even going to begin to list everything in my wallet and purse. Way too many pens, for starters. Once I was changing purses in front of my husband, and I pulled out a manual can opener! He has never let me forget that!

I love the dog treats in the bra. I used to work as a stable hand years ago. I got drunk one night and a friend put me to bed. She then proceeded to empty my pockets of my jeans and has never let me forget it:

Screwdriver, fence staples, folding hoofpick, a metal mane and tail comb, vise grips (smallish pair), a "bull clip" (I don't know what else it might be called - an all purpose clip one thing to another thing clip - LOL), a bit of change, a couple bucks, a couple bits of carrot (horse treats), a drivers license and my car key. For some reason, the folding hoofpick totally flamboozled her.

About three years into my first marriage I cleaned out my purse one day. I always had some huge purse, caught it from my mother who always had a huge purse. I used to be able to get a six pack of Little Kings in my freaking purse (to sneak into a concert with them). So anyway - I handed all the stuff that belonged to my kid back to her, all the stuff that belonged to the husband back to him, and was left with a set of keys, a drivers license and two bucks.

I bought a tri-fold man's wallet and never looked back. Still carry one today. And it has:

Does the bicycle chain attached to the wallet at one end, and two clips at the other count? One clip has my keys, the other is to clip onto a belt loop.

That's about it. A bit of dust were the money should be.

My wallet is consumed with the every freaking preferred shopper card known to man. I have taken to carrying 2 wallets just to keep them straight and then still manage to lose one when I need it at the store! One universal shopper card would be great!

I'm laughing here - Nag Champa incense for sure - I buy a box for a buck each time I go to town! But, listen - I have a big purse, like a tote and in that I carry EVERYTHING - details later...but I am a collector of little teeny purses - and in them, I always have my lipstick, a peppermint and a few bucks.
