Spring comes and goes, starts and stops
Greening in slow stages until it arrives in full
That I am
The creek flows over the rocks, bubbles through gravel beds
That also I am
The squirrel scampers, sassy, silly antics
With a semaphoric tail
I am that too.
The bike tastes the air, feels the wind
Hears the street songs as it whizzes past
I am a bike
Iridescent, the opal shows off
Sometimes I am that
Ice cream--strawberry, fresh-made, juicy red chunks in the frozen cream
Melting in the warm summer
My life is strawberry ice cream
Red peonies line the driveway, providing shade for kid and dog to lie under
Drawing the boundary gently
Occasionally I am a peony
The violin starts squeaky yet soars out into the world
Emitting sounds that stir the soul
I will be that violin
Owl light is the time between day and dark
That lets the nocturnal come alive and the daytime start to rest
I am owl light now

Most of all. I would love to be doing that now. :)
You've done a really good job of capturing the lightheartedness of a spring day. I love the images as well. It makes me "feel" the spring!
Very nice, Carol. Clare took my words - I like the feeling of "oneness with the world" this describes.
Strawberries turn to Peonies.
Bike whizzes
Imagery sizzles.
There was a child went forth ever day,
and the first object he look's upon, that object he
became,
and that object became part of him for the day or a
certain part of the day"
were you inspired by that poem carol?
you certainly made it your own anyway..
