Perhaps among the strongest recent contributors I've had the pleasure of reading is LT Christopher Combest. His continuing memoir begins with his September eleventh decision to join the military. His gripping testimonial is as compelling as his style.

Thank you for bringing him back in the spotlight Cheryl. His war biography is on the third chapter, and it is very compelling.

You are all so very kind to say the things you have. I always wondered what I would do with an English degree after college. Of course, I wound up in the wacky advertising agency world and had the time of my life. I loved pitching new clients, working on PR campaigns, helping get good folks elected to office and producing TV and Radio spots. What stopped it all was 9/11, but that was by choice.

I enjoy writing; I enjoy the cathartic effects. I never fancied myself a good writer, per se, in a classical sense. I just can't tell you what it means to me to read your thoughts. Thank you.

I'll try to get something out on the next chapter soon.
